1The deal in one paragraph
You pay once. We give you a license key for the Denge Themestheme you purchased. The license activates on a fixed number of WordPress domains (1, 2, or unlimited, depending on your tier). The theme's PHP / JS / CSS code is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 (the standard WordPress shop pattern) so you can read, modify, and redistribute it under those terms. Premium support and ongoing access to our update API are tied to your purchase — not the GPL grant.
2License grant — what you actually get
On a successful purchase we issue a license key in the form DNGE-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Activating it on a WordPress site you control entitles that site to:
- Use the theme code (GPL v2 grant).
- Receive theme update packages through the Denge Themes update API for the lifetime of the license.
- Premium installation support (6 months from purchase) and standard support thereafter — see Support below.
The license is tied to your Denge Themes account. You may transfer a single activation between domains (e.g. dev → staging → production). Selling your account credentials to a third party is not allowed.
3License tiers
- Single Site — 1 active domain at a time.
- Two Sites — 2 active domains at a time.
- Unlimited — any number of domains you build for yourself or your clients. Handing over a WordPress install (with the theme) to a client is permitted; the license itself stays with your Denge Themes account.
4What's permitted, what's not
Permitted: reading the code, modifying it for your own sites, embedding it in client deliverables, sharing it under GPL v2 terms.
Not permitted: reselling the theme as your own under a different brand without modification (white-label resale), abusing the update API or license activation API (rate-limited; abuse leads to license suspension), uploading malicious modifications back to customer sites we provide installation support for.
5Premium support and your credentials
Premium support (included for 6 months from purchase) accepts WordPress admin and/or hosting panel credentials so we can install the theme on your behalf. Credentials are encrypted server-side with AES-256-GCM before being written to the database. Plaintext never persists. Each access by support staff writes an audit log entry. Credentials are automatically purged 7 days after the ticket is resolved, or earlier if you delete them from the ticket detail page.
We recommend using a WordPress Application Password instead of your main admin password where possible (Users → Profile → Application Passwords on WP 5.6+). Revoke it after we complete the install.
6Refunds
14-day no-questions-asked refund from the date of purchase. See the full refund policy for the mechanics. Refund issuance revokes the license, expires active site activations, and (in practice) breaks update checks on the next theme heartbeat.
7Account termination
We may suspend or terminate an account for: chargeback fraud, abusive use of the license activation API, attempts to circumvent the activation limit, or violations of our acceptable use commitments. Where possible we contact you first; for fraud cases we may suspend immediately and explain afterward.
You can close your account at any time by emailing support@dengetheme.com. We'll delete your personal data per the Privacy Policy.
8Warranties and liability
The theme is provided "as is". We don't warrant that it is bug-free, that updates will be timely, or that it will be compatible with every plugin you might install. Within the bounds permitted by applicable consumer-protection law, total liability for any claim arising from your use of the theme is capped at the amount you paid for the license in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law, including statutory rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive.
9Governing law and disputes
These terms are drafted to be compatible with EU consumer-protection standards. Specific governing law and jurisdiction will be finalized on the operating-entity registration record — that page is published and linked here before commercial launch.
For disputes, please contact us first at hello@dengetheme.com — most issues resolve faster by email than by escalation.
10Changes to these terms
We may update these terms — for example to clarify ambiguous language or reflect new features. Material changes are emailed to active customers at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
Questions about these terms? Email hello@dengetheme.com. Subject line "Terms question" gets a same-day reply on weekdays.
